The Body of Lake Michigan:
is a permanent sculptural installation within Midway Airport,
Chicago, IL. The translucent fiberglass sculpture is developed from
dimensional data of Lake Michigan collected by the USGS of 1: 230,
which dramatizes and clarifies all of the lake’s features,
January 2002.

La Mano y La Bola:
Commissioned by the City of Algeciras, Spain, the art work is positioned
on El Cabrito Ridge between Algeciras and Tarifa, Spain, overlooking
the Strait of Gibraltar. The two sides of the Hand are made of 1100
movable panels, when activated by a 10 m.p.h. breeze, swing out.
The “Ball” rotates at 5 r.p.m., powered by wind. steel,
alum; 1997. Ball - 20’ dia. Hand - 27' x 40' x 5' 1995-1997.

Beach Marks: 8:30AM-11:30
PM, August 6, 1993 at the 16th Cultural Moussen, in Asiah, Morocco;
a temporary piece excavated with the help of fellow artists and
students. At 8:30 AM, at low tide, we began the sand excavation
and the spreading of the turmeric spice which was completed by noon.
By 11:30 PM, at high tide, the piece was erased by the ocean.

Vanitas: The
installation is a fifty-two piece permanent installation in the
Columbus Carnegie Metropolitan Library, Columbus, Ohio. This view
is from the center of three second-floor portals.The work is based
upon a interpretation of “vanitas,” a term referring
especially to 17th century Dutch-Flemish still-life paintings in
which bounty is symbolic of accumulated wealth and productivity,
while also suggesting human vulnerablity. The work includes symbols
of written, spoken, and gestured language; mixed media including
wood, bronze, aluminum, epoxy, Corian, steel ; the vaulted room
is 40’ x 50’ x 23’; 1992.

Serpent Canopy |
Public Works in progress:
Serpent Canopy: Columbus, Ohio. Painted steel columns and space
frame; anodized aluminum mullion system, safety glass. This studied
proposal, commissioned by the City of Columbus through the Greater
Columbus Arts Council by means of a national competition, has been
become politicized and remaind unbuilt. The structure traverses
the length of the 700’ x 100’ bridge.
